 I'm very excited to be on the Provo Craft Design team. I have six great kids: five sons and one daughter. Unfortunately, I was widowed seven years ago. I was into scrapbooking before this happened (thank goodness, wonderful memories preserved), but I shut down in the creative process for a while after that. I ended up marrying the widower down the street--Dave--and became a stepmom to his six children (four boys, two girls). We have nine grandchildren, soon to be ten.
Getting my Cricut reopened my creative spirit. I was on a business trip with my husband Dave last November, and while he was in meetings, I was in the hotel room clicking through the channels. I stopped at the Cricut infomercial. Dave came to the room just as it ended, and the first thing I said to him was "I know what I want for Christmas." And the rest, shall we say, is history.
I'm very active in the community, volunteering for my church, the PTA, and my neighborhood. I have served on the Executive Board for the Salt Lake City Festival of Trees for the last 15 years. It has been such a fulfilling experience helping the children at Primary Children's Medical Center.
I have always been into home décor. When I was a little girl playing with dolls with my friends, I never really played the traditional way. I liked to design rooms for the dolls to "live" in. I made rooms, furniture, wall coverings, and much more for them (can you imagine what I could have done with a Cricut?). I haven't changed much. My favorite thing to do is "repurpose" items. Give me a can of paint, an item you wouldn't expect, some vinyl, and my Cricut, and I can put together some interesting items. Whether it's putting your favorite saying on the wall or detailing a piece of furniture, I hope to give you inspiration so you can put together some fun things for your home.
